In desperation, I made a restore disk from my wife's Win 10 Toshiba PC and was successful in getting Windows 8.1 working on my PC again - BUT the production activation key from mine does not work. I had now lost all of my documents, photos, email messages, etc. The System Image restore would complete about 99%, then give error code 0x80070057Īnd rebooting gave me a blue screen where no options would work.
